Ascott Acquired by The Schunk Group

We are very pleased and excited to announce that Ascott has been acquired by the Schunk Group in a deal that offers huge potential growth that will continue to strengthen our position as a world leader in corrosion testing equipment.

The knowledge and experience that Ascott has accumulated over the decades has generated a great deal of interest from other businesses.  Weiss Technik, a subsidiary of the German owned Schunk Group, recognised the strength and growth of Ascott and it was agreed that the two companies would complement each other perfectly and create significant opportunities for both brands around the world.

Adrian Wain, Managing Director of Ascott Analytical stated “There is a natural synergy between Ascott and Weiss Technik and we’re very excited about the future.  Going forward, with the combined resources and expertise that we now have; we will go from strength to strength”

Dr. Arno Roth, CEO of the Schunk Group added “Ascott is a very good fit for the Schunk Group. With this purchase, we are significantly expanding the market position of our subsidiary Weiss Technik in the field of corrosion testing”

“Weiss Technik and Ascott together are number three in the global market for corrosion testing equipment, the two companies complement each other perfectly” explained Peter R. Manolopoulos, Member of the Executive Board of the Schunk Group and responsible for Weiss Technik.

Manufacturing and the day to day running of Ascott will continue at the Tamworth factory and Head Office, where the news of the acquisition was announced recently, and representatives of the Schunk Group were welcomed to Ascott.

All Accessories – The Ultimate Guide

One of the things that sets Ascott apart from others, and we are very proud of, is our comprehensive range of accessories and optional fittings.  With such a large range of extra options, it has been difficult to show them all with detailed descriptions in our standard brochure.

We have now created a standalone accessories brochure, with everything listed in intuitive categories.  A simple and easy to follow key shows which chambers each accessory is compatible with and where an option must be factory fitted, this is clearly shown.

We are very excited to announce that we have been shortlisted in an incredible four categories in the prestigious Insider Made In The Midlands awards for 2022

Our success and hard work have been recognised by the judges and we are now finalists in the following categories:

We have forged strong links with many customers and partners in the field of corrosion testing over the years and are proud to announce that we are now a sustaining company member of the Institute of Corrosion.

Formed in 1959, the Institute of Corrosion serves scientists, industry professionals and academics, and is the largest community of corrosion specialists in the UK, offering resources, recognised training and qualifications as well as a professional network structure.

We look forward to working with the Institute and its members and playing an important part in reducing the effects of corrosion globally.

Ascott at SGS new HQ

SGS recently announced the establishment of their West China Headquarters in Chongqing.  As part of a huge programme of planned growth, the regional HQ will be opening several new laboratories over the next few years.

Founded in 1878, SGS is a globally recognised leader in testing, inspection, and certification services.

Ascott are proud to supply SGS around the world with our state-of-the-art chambers that enable them to deliver the highest quality of corrosion testing.

We were delighted to see Ascott taking pride of place at the SGS HQ launch and congratulate them on their continued expansion.

Celebrating in Style!

We recently attended the MX Awards evening, celebrating the very best of British Manufacturing.  As finalists in the Product Innovation category, we enjoyed a fantastic night of dinner and entertainment, (with maybe a little wine also!)

It is a great feeling when the efforts of the whole team are recognised in this way and even better now that we are starting to have events like this again, where we can meet up with others and make new connections.

We are very proud of our long standing tradition of innovation, and as we look forward to the future with even more innovative projects planned for the coming months and years, it’s time to look at getting a bigger trophy cabinet!

Further Exhibition Dates Confirmed

As businesses around the world are beginning to have face to face meetings again, many exhibitions that were postponed or cancelled are able to open their doors again.

We will be exhibiting at productronica Munich in November and then a further three shows in December, EMAF Porto, Paint & Coatings Tokyo and Automotive Testing Expo Shanghai.

We very much look forward to seeing all customers, old and new!
