The Society of Automotive Engineers published their Surface Vehicle Standard, J 2334 Cosmetic Corrosion Lab Test in June 1998, to describe the apparatus, procedure, and conditions required to create and maintain cyclic corrosion test conditions. The guidance provided by SAE J2334 testing to industry has been instrumental in freeing vehicles from the ravages of corrosion and material decay.
